

After a short illness, Howard E. Sanger Jr. passed peacefully on July 23, 2013. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Howard is the son of Howard and Elizabeth Sanger. With his siblings Richard (wife Haydee ) Chris Groves and Elizabeth Tricarico the family moved to Arizona in 1962. Upon graduating from Paradise Valley High School in 1964, Howard worked for 35 years as a printer for the Arizona Republic with time out to enlist in the Army and serve in Viet Nam. At a high school reunion he became reacquainted with Linda (nee Timco) and the couple married in 1998. Howard became actively involved in the life of his step-daughter Julie Nicholson and the two loved to pal around together. Howard was an avid fan of the Cardinals and greatly enjoyed attending games with his friends. Howard also loved to garden and grow habanero peppers, travel, golf, read, and enjoyed hiking and backpacking for many years with the Sierra Club. Howard is known to all as a kind, generous, gentle soul. Howard is survived by his wife Linda, their Julie, his siblings, many nieces and nephews, and many friends who will greatly miss him.
