Mrs. Traore was my French teacher at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY, between 1983 and 1987. I've very often thought about her and recalled what a dignified woman she was.

A student never forgets a great teacher.

I remember the first time my husband Merv introduced me to his sister Irma.  She was warm and welcoming and made me feel instantly like family.  Always a pleasure to talk to her.  Always had comforting words and freely expressed her love.  She loved life and talked happily of being blessed to travel the world.  Her message was always positive when concerns and anxieties regarding daily life was shared.  In addition, she had a very generous heart.  Always a  bag packed with food and baked goods to take home.  What a happy day, finally home with her maker and meeting her loved ones who went before.  Rest In Peace Irma.  You will be truly missed.

I never met Irma, but her legacy continues on with her extraordinary son Marc, who I have the pleasure to know and work with. He is a man of integrity, a hard worker and an all-around awesome man. Auntie Irma, how fortunate I am to have you as my aunt. So many wonderful childhood  memories and so many lessons learned, from the French lessons, to long talks about navigating through the trials and challenges of life as an adult.  I can still hear your voice, crystal clear as you would say, Kirsten my Dear niece, I love you, I love you, I love you and my response always, Auntie Irma, I love you tons. To say you will be missed is an understatement and though you would not want me to be, I am indeed heartbroken.  Until we meet again, Auntie Irma.

My heart ❤️ is heavy due to loss of my Aunt Irma she was and always be a intragal part of our family and will truly be missed.  My aunt whom was truly named by father as" The Professor " for her amazing intellect and her love for education.  She was a very inspiring to us all in every aspect of our growing up. There were a lot of life lessons learned from her. Now she will joining her sister Grace, her brothers Ernest and Mervyn.  And the patriarch of the family her mother and our Grandmother Ursula in Heaven where we all hope to reunited once again.  Sleep in Paradise   Your loving nephew  Eugene!
