James “Sandy” Heathman born September 25, 1922 in S. Louis, MO to D.B. Ray and Carrie [Watson] Heathman, passed away on November 19, 2013 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 91. He served in the US Army during World War II. He later worked for the St. Louis Post Dispatch for many years where he was known as “Sandy”. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Silver Ridge, traveling in his RV and going to casinos. He was a friend to everyone, had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. Sandy is survived by Ruby [Iverson] Dougherty; sons Walter and Terry, seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
