Jeffrey Lee Hubbell

Jeffrey Lee Hubbell, 62, of Tempe, AZ, passed away at his home on January 3, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1961, to Calvin and Judy Hubbell in Danville, Illinois. Jeff spent most of his life in Arizona and graduated from Marcos de Niza High School in 1979 and then Arizona State University. After graduating, Jeff started working at Salt River Project as an analyst, and then at Hewlett Packard as a computer engineer. His job at HP let him to his final career in technology sales, where he worked for HP, World Wide Technology, Tech Data, and Cisco, where he ended his successful career after he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in February of 2021.

Jeff was a frequent golfer and traveler. He traveled to 6 continents (missing Antarctica), too many countries to count, and 48 states (missing North Dakota and West Virginia). Many of those countries were mission trips for Jeff, as he was active in the missions and other ministries at Arizona Community Church, as well as being an elder for many years.

Jeff also had a love of music and sang from high school through his adult life at his church. But what Jeff loved most of all was people. Jeff was genuinely interested in people and made everyone feel like an old friend. To have known and loved Jeff is a gift.

Jeff married Dawn Demmer in 2005, and together they enjoyed a full life of family, friends, golfing, and blessed trips around the globe.

Jeff’s legacy of love, friendship, and joy continue on through the lives of his family, friends, and all those who were blessed to know him. He is survived by two sons, JT Hubbell (Cody) of Chandler, AZ, Jon Hubbell (Sydney) of Los Angeles, CA, stepdaughter Amber of Chandler, as well as granddaughters Preslyn and Shayne, grandson Harrison, and another granddaughter due in May 2024, fondly named Baby Girl Hubb, as well as a grand dog, Nacho. He is also survived by his mother and father, mother-in law Norma, sister Kim (Joe), brother-in-laws Jerry (Julie), Brian (Teri) and Reed (Jill), as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lester, and his brother-in-law William (Bill).

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Arizona Community Church, 9325 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona 85284 on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Arizona Community Church, whose Music and Youth/Young Adult ministries Jeff cared passionately about.
