

Jimmie Tanner 90 of Mesa, AZ was born in Tulsa, OK on June 14, 1926 to Harry and Cleta Tanner. He passed peacefully on October 18, 2016. Jimmie grew up in Dallas, TX and attended Highland Park High School. He married Dorothy Barta in Dallas in 1950.
His career in the Insurance Field included being an investigator for fraudulent claims as well as an adjustor. He finished his career with Carroon and Black as a claims manager. He was a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the New Mexico Claims Association.
He was a WWII Veteran and served in the Navy and Air Force. He was a member of the Elks for 43 years and treasured his time spent in his RV at the Elks Refuge in New Mexico. Jimmie loved to play pool, watch baseball, football and eat cherry pie and ice cream.
Jimmie was predeceased by his wife Dorothy of 65 years and his oldest son Bruce in December 2015. He is survived by his children Vickie Stoddard, Steve Tanner, and Kathy Slames and his brother Arnold Tanner. He has four grandchildren Lori and Brian Ebert, Matthew and Chris Slames as well as two great-granddaughters.
A private memorial for Jimmie will be held by the family at a later date. He will be buried at a Veteran’s Cemetery. A special thanks to East Valley Hospice and Jones Family Care Home for the care and comfort provided.
