“Joan Martinson was 65 years young when she passed away on 5/29 at Mercy Gilbert Hospital in Arizona. She was an avid golfer, concert goer and music aficionado but loved reading above all other hobbies. Her favorite color was purple, favorite movie was The Sound of Music, and favorite musical collection was the Sister Act soundtrack. She worked in semiconductor manufacturing for a large part of her life, which is where she met Phil, the love of her life. They were together for 22 years. She later went into technical recruiting and then into office management at a company called Tech One. It is there she helped her son, Alex, get his first real job, which jumpstarted his career. When not working or doing one of her hobbies, she loved spending time with her family and best friend, Mikki, and would frequently go to California to meet them. Her mother, Elizabeth, her step father, Harold, and siblings Bill, Bob, Randy and Renee will all miss her terribly. Her son, Alex, will miss her most of all. Her father, John, died about one month before she did, so she will have him and her lifelong friend Barbara to meet her in heaven when she arrives. She was very kind and generous to everyone she met, and was always the life of the party.
