Joseph Paul Granados

He was born in Norwich, CT on July 8, 1960. Joe graduated from Norwich Free Academy for high school.

He was married to Melissa M. Granados (Pierce) on December 13, 2003 in Coventry, RI.

Joe retired from the CT Department of Corrections in 2009 after over 21 years of service. Prior to his time in the DOC he worked with the CT State Troopers as an auxiliary officer and the New London County Sheriff's Department as a Court House Officer. He had a passion for auto racing of all kinds including the Whelen Modified Tour, short track racing both dirt and asphalt. He also followed the NASCAR Cup Series and the NHRA Drag Racing Series.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Dunn and his parental in-laws Wayne K. Pierce and Kathleen A. Pierce.

Joe is survived by his wife Melissa M Granados, his daughter Jessica T. Granados, and his half sister Penny Granados. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Kerri L. Clement, brother in-law Andrew Clement and his niece Lilly Clement.

His family asks that in lieu of flowers they get a yearly skin check for skin cancer.
