July 9, 1988--March 7, 2013
Joshua Scott Schneider was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on a rainy, thunderous day in July. Immediately, he touched all the hearts and souls of those who were lucky enough to have known him. He had big brown eyes that would see through your soul, a beautiful smile that would take all the bad away for that moment, strong shoulders that could bare the troubles of many a man, laughter that would instantaneously put a smile on your face and arms that would stretch as long as they had to, giving that special hug whenever needed. When he was ten years old his family moved to Arizona during the intensely hot summer month of August, he couldn’t believe that furniture would actually sink into the pavement like quicksand. It was certainly quite a change from the milder weather and four seasons he was used to in New Mexico.
Joshua attended Superstition Springs Elementary, Smith Junior High, and graduated from Gilbert High School in 2006. At fifteen years old Joshua started his first job working at McDonald's and felt such pride in himself that he was able to contribute to the job market, because he had to learn the value of a dollar through hard work and determination at an early age. He learned all he could about customer service and sales which enabled him to obtain a management position in retail sales. Although, Joshua would be able to sell “ice to an eskimo”; it was more important for Josh to take the time to provide the type of service he would expect for himself or family and would do the best to sell what was needed and wanted, which built long lasting business relationships.
No fair weather fan here, Joshua loved his Broncos and his Diamondbacks!! He never missed an opening day or spring training day game nor would you be able to sway his convictions about his teams or team members. He was an avid sports history buff who even surprised a family friend who writes for the A’s by sharing his sports history and knowledge – quite an accomplishment in his book! Joshua admired many of the great comic book characters, Batman imparticular – what Joshua didn’t realize is what a “HERO” he was and will always be in all of our hearts.
Joshua unexpectedly passed away in the early morning hours of March 7, 2013 and is survived by his Mother, Dora Victor, his sister Madison, and his brother Lucas. He is also survived by his father, Scott Schneider, as well as, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. However, Joshua is also survived by countless friends, many of whom are considered family. There are no words for the empty space that Joshua has now left on all the hearts he touched and loved.
