

Josiah David Winter, 12, born October 7, 2007 in Gilbert, AZ to Melissa Ann Huber and Stephan Phillip Winter, passed away December 19, 2019. Throughout his short life, Josiah was a very happy boy who brought joy to all who knew him. He attended Mendoza Elementary School in Mesa, AZ where he participated in chess club the past two years. Josiah was a smart and talented young man who enjoyed reading history, mystery, and sci-fi. He also loved playing video games such as Mario, Sonic, and Dragonball Z, endlessly with his friends on weekends. His favorite thing was going on road trips; whether it was to Illinois to visit family, or to California, to the beach with his beach chair, to ride the waves, he loved it all. Josiah was also an children’s author and was able to write and disperse his first book in March of 2019. Josiah is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Melissa and David Bartlett; his father, Stephan Winter; siblings, Jireh Winter and Jonah Kloess and step-siblings, Raylen, Kathryn, and Dylan Bartlett, his maternal grandfather Thomas Huber and step-grandmothers Elizabeth Huber and Vicki Bartlett, his paternal grandmother Evelyne Winter, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. A celebration of Josiah’s life will be held at Red Mountain Community Church, 6101 E Virginia St, Mesa, AZ 85215 On January 25th at 1:00pm.
