Joyce was born on February 7, 1939 to Theodore and Ida May Felten in Camden, New Jersey
Joyce grew up on a flower farm where her family grew pansies for seed and bedding plants for local nurseries.
Her family also had a family band. Joyce's father and aunts and uncles were talented musicians.
Sometime in the mid-fifties the family moved to Phoenix and Joyce graduated from Phoenix Union HS, class of 1957.
She later worked at Motorola and Arizona Public Service where she retired in 1998.
Joyce married Bruce Hayes on October 16, 1977.
Together they enjoyed camping and sailing and especially their dogs.
Joyce bred and raised papillons and pomeranians. She trained them in obedience, agility, dancing,
and she showed them in dog shows around the country where she and her dogs won numerous titles.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Ida May Felten.
Survivors include her husband Bruce and her brother Allan Felten.
