It is with great sadness that her family announces the loss of a beloved mother, revered grandmother, cherished sister, true friend, and a world-class thrift shop diva. Judith Ann Miller passed away peacefully at her home in the Fellowship Square assisted living community in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 77 on February 21, 2025, after approximately two years of declining health and a recent battle with cancer.
Judy was born on May 26, 1947, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, one of four children born to Edward and Blanche Heath. As a child, her entire world was the tiny town of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, where she grew up surrounded by her extended family. After graduating from Northwestern High School in Darlington, Pennsylvania in 1965, Judy aspired to be like the older sister she adored by becoming a Registered Nurse. She attended and graduated from the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before beginning a lifetime of service and care for others. Judy moved with her family from western Pennsylvania to Glendale, Arizona, in 1981, and lived in the Valley ever since. Her nursing career culminated with more than a decade of service with Hospice of the Valley, providing for the needs of the terminally ill, and she spent much of the last two decades keeping the various thrift stores of Mesa in business and doting on her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her ex-husband but best friend, Fred Miller, of Mesa; her sons, Jeffrey Miller of Montclair, Virginia, and Jerry Miller of Mesa; her siblings, Janet Molli and Edward Heath, both of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jerry Heath of Olathe, Kansas; and her five grandchildren.
An informal reception will be held from 10:00 AM to noon on March 10, 2025, at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 400 S. Power Road, Mesa, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation in Judy’s honor to Hospice of the Valley. https://www.hov.org/donate/donate-now/
