Julio was born in Morón, Cuba to Julian and Andrea Gonzalez. He had an older sister, Norma and a younger brother, Rolando. From his father he learned to work harder and longer than most. From his mother he learned to show respect for everyone and hold his head high. There was no task too difficult and every problem had a solution. In 1962, Julio was 21, and had to leave his homeland of Cuba to seek refuge from the communist regime. He met the love of his life, Linda, and they were married on September 26, 1964. They had three children, Amy, Lisa, and Greg. His grandchildren are Taylor, Tanner, Caitlin, Madison and Chance. His first great grandchild will be born in November. He loved his family so very much. He was an entrepreneur and has owned many successful businesses starting with his shoe shining business he started when he was only ten years old. We will miss him, his wisdom, and his humor. Until we meet again….here is some of his advice….
You need to believe in yourselves. Pay attention to what your common sense and heart are telling you. Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise or convince you to do what you know is wrong. No one is more important than you. Your family is first. Think about what is best for them. Bring honor and respect to your home. -Julio
