Kathleen Anne Campos "Kathy" age 62 passed away in her home in Mesa AZ surrounded by her loving family on June 18, 2025 after nearly 2 years on hospice. She is pre-deceased 5 weeks by her beloved Mother, Margaret "Peggy" Campos 84, survived by her two sisters Theresa Campos and Lisa Holland, her brother Mike Campos, her two Aunts Nora Loucks and Frannie Taylor, and two nephews Forrest and Reed Holland.
Kathy was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 3, 1962, to Peggy and Rodolfo Campos. Soon after her birth her family travelled to the Philippines for 3 years to live with Rudy's family where her sisters were born while Rudy awaited his US citizenship. They returned to the US to pursue programs to accommodate Kathy's special needs. They lived in PA where her brother Mike was born as Rudy completed surgical residency. The family then moved to AZ in 1970 where Kathy lived out her life.
As a child Kathy began competing in Special Olympics sports gymnastics, track, horseback riding, bowling and swimming, which she continued into adulthood. Kathy graduated from Greenway High School then moved to Mesa with her mother. She worked at the MARC Center for many years and was extremely active in Mesa Adaptive programs, keeping a full social calendar. She participated in the "You Look Marvelous" fashion show every year in May, went to Camp Tatiyee for one week every summer, went to Disneyland every fall, attended monthly holiday dances and parties, and enjoyed going to movies with her mom. She loved celebrating family birthdays, especially her own, often reminding us about it months in advance.
Kathy lived a full rich life and was loved by everyone. She was charming and funny and had a smile that would light up a room. She will be dearly missed. The family takes comfort in knowing that Mom was waiting to greet her on the other side, that they are together again in Heaven.
