Margaret Ann Foran

passed away Wed., June 29, 2011, in Mesa, AZ., and was born in Endicott, NY, on July 2, 1920. She moved to Arizona in 1963, and was a longtime member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L Foran Sr., and her son, Robert L. Foran. She is survived by her 6 living children: James L. Foran Jr., of San Jose, Calif., Barbara J. Willan (Peter), Joseph M. Foran, both of Mesa, AZ, Margaret Jean Welch (Mark), of Payson, AZ, Charles F. Foran, of Mesa, AZ, Mary Kathleen Shea (Brian), of Roswell, NM., and 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and her Godson Joseph "Jay" Frey (Bonnie), of Wilmington, NC., and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Margaret was a "Rosie the Riveter" with IBM during WWII, obtained a college degree from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, gave piano lessons after the war, and later in life became a librarian for the Tempe Elementary School District. As a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in the past she was in the choir and helped out in the gift shop and office and with the Fiesta. Visitation will be held on Wed., July 6, 2011 5-8:30pm at Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses 43 S. Stapley Dr. Mesa, AZ. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Thurs., July 7, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 141 N. MacDonald St. Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in the name of Margaret Foran's name to Queen of Peace Catholic School.
