Marion Amelia Louisa Blaske was born November 6, 1916 to Arthur Ferdinand and Anna Blaske in their home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was the oldest of three daughters. At age 13, she was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. She preferred the traditional spelling of her name to be Marian and was known that way all her life.
She married Bernard Arthur Kannenberg September 25, 1937 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church also in Oshkosh. Their daughter Ruth Ann was born February 4, 1940 followed fourteen months later by a son Bernard Arthur Jr on April 14, 1941. Ellen Jean was born March 23, 1946.
Marian was a homemaker all of their married life and also helped her husband in their grocery business. She enjoyed crocheting, rug hooking, painting by number and playing the organ.
Bernie and Marian moved to Mesa, AZ in 1970. They regularly attended and supported the church and enjoyed picnics and outings in the desert. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on September 25, 1984, just months before the death of her husband. During the days before Bernie’s death, she spent time reading the Bible to him.
Marian sold their home in 2001 and moved to the Royal Palms Apartments. She later became a resident of Mesa Christian Assisted Living Apartments where she remained until her death on March 10, 2010.
