

Marilyn was born on August 12, 1946, in Bath, Maine, to the late Brenton and Julia (Cole) Ayer. She was a 1964 graduate of Morse High School. She married Willard Atwood Proctor on May 1,1965 and a year later welcomed their daughter, Juliane. They later divorced in 1969; whereafter, she met her second husband and soulmate, Adriel Lewis Mason.
Marilyn and Adriel were married August 7, 1970, and welcomed their daughter, Angela, the following year. They had a caring relationship based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. They were married for 38 years until his death in October 2008.
Marilyn worked at Bath Memorial Hospital until they relocated to Mesa, Arizona, in January 1977. She worked at Mesa General Hospital for a brief period of time and then went to work at Banner Desert Samaritan Hospital in May 1980, and worked as a Coding Quality Analyst, until her death.
She was a kind hearted, beautiful soul who impacted the lives of everyone she met. She was a loving wife, passionate mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a faithful friend. Her selfless spirit and unconditional love is an inspiration to all who knew her. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Her fun-loving, adventurous spirit, with a touch of sass, made each experience with her one to cherish. Her magnetic personality and engaging smile will be greatly missed. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
She is survived by; her faithful companion Elizabeth, a chihuahua that she adopted from the rescue; two daughters, Juliane Moore, Angela Espinoza and her husband Frank; six grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Harlee, Christina, Hannah, and Aaliyah; and eight great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Lydia, Andrew, Madelynn, Bentley, William, Jocelyn, and Elayna. She is preceded in death by; her spouse, Adriel; her brother, Charles B. Ayer; and her parents.
There will be a Memorial Service September 14, 2019 at 1:00 at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dobson Road, Mesa, Arizona 85202. Reception immediately following.
