Marilyn Jane Meyer, age 96, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Mesa, Arizona. Marilyn was born on April 28, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois as an only child to parents Bernard “Ben” Oquist and Agnes (Aarvold) Oquist. She married Rudy Ammon on August 30, 1947 in Rockford, Illinois. She enjoyed doing puzzles and watching sports.
Marilyn is survived by daughters; Barbara Martens and Beverly Hogg, grandchildren; Val Bunting, Tyler Bunting, Raechel Hogg, Tricia Rush and Scott Ammon, 6 great-grandchildren, and special friends; Ida, Colleen and Mary Dawn. She preceded in passing by her parents Ben and Agnes Oquist, her husbands; Rudy Ammon and Warren Meyer and her son; Bernie Ammon.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11am at Calvary Free Lutheran Church; 590 N. 96th St. Mesa, Arizona 85207. Marilyn will be laid to rest at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, Illinois 61115.
