

Mary Esther Blevins, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away February 22, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born January 11, 1927 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Ismael and Juana [Santiago] Berrios and moved to New York City at the age of 15. Mary enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, especially pinochle. She also enjoyed taking road trips; she was “the Ambassador for her friends and family who would visit her” and would take them on a road trip through Arizona, her favorite destination being Tortilla Flats. Throughout her life, she took on many roles and jobs, including working as a real estate broker, Deputy Sherriff, Target security as well as working in politics for the Jimmy Carter campaign. The role she was most proud of was being a mother; she loved her family and the time she spent with them. Mary is survived by her children, Jaime (Joy) Aguayo, Ronald (Jan) Blevins, Deborah (David Fleshner) Quinn, Denise (Julie Knoedelseder) Blevins, Dawn Blevins and Dwayne Blevins; her grandchildren, Melissa Aguayo, Dawn Quinn, Christen Testo, Ryan Blevins, Diana Testo, Greg Testo, Brendt Drew Blevins, Peter Quinn, and Brittany Blevins; her great grandchildren, Keith Bennett, Kaelee Bennett, Jude Connelly, Rylee Blevins, Raena Blevins, Roan Blevins, Santana Blevins, Ezra Blevins, Elijah Blevins, Dariana, Knaeza, Soari, and Jerrold. Her sister, Jesusa Diaz and many nieces and nephews survive her. A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ.
