Merle Jones was born July 31st, 1917 in Oklahoma to Zena (Evans) and Roy Jones, and passed away April 12th, 2013. He and Betty Powell were married on Jan2, 1943, and have two children, Robert Merle Jones (wife Tatsuko) and Merlene Lynch ( husband George). He is survived by his two children, his wife of 70 years, Betty, and one sibling, Betty Jane Ingram of Little Rock, Arkansas as well as his two grandchildren Katy Lynch and Kevin Lynch (wife Kimberly) of San Diego, California.
Merle served in WWII as First Sergeant of the 202nd Field Artillery Batallion, which landed on Utah Beach at Normandy, France, and provided artillery support for the campaign across France and Germany, ending in Austria.
Merle loved his family life and spent much time with them growing up. All who knew and loved him will miss him.
