

Michael John Brophy, age 67, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on November 21, 2024. Mike, as his family and friends called him, was born in Flint, Michigan on March 24, 1957, where he was the 3rd of 5 children and attended Swartz Creek High School. During his time in high school he met his wife, Carol, while working at McDonalds. Upon graduation in 1975, Mike and Carol married and he left shortly thereafter to attend boot camp for the United States Air Force.
Mike served in the Air Force for 12 years, serving in places such as Michigan's U.P. Missouri, North Dakota, South Korea (twice), and settled with his wife Carol, daughter Theresa, and son Jonathon on Andrews AFB in Maryland. Mike was medically discharged from the Air Force in 1987. In 1988, Mike moved the family to central Florida and pursued a career in his passion of photography. In the summer of 1995, Carol passed away. Mike, along with Jonathon, relocated to Mesa, Arizona the following year.
Mike enjoyed working with his hands and had a variety of jobs that eventually led to a career in plumbing. Mike worked as a plumber with his own small company until 2010, when he suffered a small stroke. With Theresa joining Mike and Jonathon in Arizona in 2011, Mike was happy to have his family close, especially his grandchildren Tyson and Taylor.
Mike was always in good spirits despite his health ailments, and loved being of service to his friends and family.
Mike is survived by his children Theresa (Wes) Holmes, and Jonathon Brophy; his grandchildren Tyson and Taylor; his siblings Kathy (Eric) Erickson, Linda (Dennis) Smalley, Jim (Michele) Brophy, and Rita Griffin.
