Mildred Gwen Elwell, 77, died at 1:12 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 in Mesa, AZ. She was born on March 14, 1943 in Morris, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her father Earl Wheeler; step father John McGurty; mother Dorthy McGurty; husband Theodore Elwell Sr.

Mildred is survived by daughter Corrina & husband Glenn; sons Theodore Jr. & wife Rhonda, John & wife Susan; grandchildren Teddy III, Jeremy, Rebeka, Devin and Ella; sisters Mable, Wanda, Rose & husband Bill; nieces, nephews & cousins; and her dog Cubbie. All of those she cared for deeply.

Millie was the rock of the family, a selfless dedicated mom to all of her children and their friends. Family came first and was above all to Millie, a value she taught to all those around her. She was always looking out for the children. It never mattered to her if they were her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, neighbors or teammates. She wanted all kids to feel loved and have an opportunity to flourish.

Millie loved to travel on a moment's notice, spend time with family, visit the dog park with Cubbie, watching the Wolf Pack and resort style living during her snowbird years in Mesa, AZ. A virtual service will be held on March 14, 2021 @ noon with an 11:30 login.

I was lucky to get to spend time with Millie several times when she was in LV watching John coach or just visiting. She was sure proud of her son, and I enjoyed visiting with her. Heaven got another good one to look out for us!

Although I hadn’t spent much time with Millie, the memories will live on forever with a lot of smiles and laughter. Travels from Fiji to the red wood forests in CA, bring a joy that is such an honor. Cori-thanks for sharing your mom. Millie-thank you for being so open to all things while here.

Millie and Teddy were so fun to be around. I did not meet them until after highschool and they treated me like a daughter. They would show up to every game her kids/grandkids were playing in and they started going to every motocross race that they could with Teddy and his family where my son would race too. I loved seeing them be the ultimate fans. I am so sorry for your loss. Love and prayers to you all. She will be greatly missed. May she Rest In Peace. ❤️
Love you Elwell’s.

So many wonderful memories with Millie and Ted. We were neighbors, friends, and camping buddies for many years. Our kids grew up with Teddy, John and Corrina. Our kids were their kids and vice versa. We sat next to each other at Sparks high football and basketball games, and then went to BOJOs after the games. We were all active in Pop Warner football and cheerleading.. So many nights around the campfire at Frenchman’s. ..Now we still have our memories of the amazing Millie and her willingness to share it with us. Via con Dios Millie. We Love you.
