Nathaniel Caldwell Hill, Jr. was born April 18, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska to Nathaniel C. Hill, Sr. and Viola Melcher Hill. He passed September 13, 2017 in Chandler, Arizona. The eldest of four siblings, Nat’s family moved to Phoenix when he was six months old where he attended Whittier Elementary and North Phoenix High schools. Nat was active in athletics and a member of the Mustang football team. In addition to owning a successful insurance agency; Nat enjoyed the outdoors and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He also won many awards and accolades in competitive high-speed water skiing and ballroom dancing. A staunch Republican, Nat supported many conservative causes, including the political career of his friend and boyhood paper route customer, Barry Goldwater. Nat is survived by his brother, John C. Hill, Sr., three children, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on October 5 at 10:30 am at Melcher Chapel of the Roses, 43 S.
