passed away February 26th, 2025, in Mesa Arizona.
He was born to Kathyrene Murrill Gregor and Paul Peter Gregor. He was proceeded in death by his
parents, his first wife Claire Risley Gregor and two sons Paul Christian and David Curtis Gregor.
He is survived by his wife Myra A Bode, a son Mark Ervin and son-in-law Brian Nagy, stepchildren Karen
Click, Warren Bode and Darlene Spearman, sister Ann Marie Percy, nephews Bobby and Michael Percy.
Myra’s children also blessed him with nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great
granddaughter.
Claire and Paul Christian both succumbed to the genetic disease Huntington’s. David died by suicide.
A celebration of life was held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Roseburg Oregon March 22nd. His ashes
are to be laid to rest in his family plot in Mobile Alabama.
His parents affectionately nicknamed him Sonny which his family in Alabama still refer to him as.
He was baptized Greek Orthodox at the Malbis Plantation in Alabama. He was later confirmed at St.
Luke’s Lutheran church in Reno Nevada.
After graduating from high school in Fairhope Alabama he went to Coyne Electrical Trade School in
Chicago Illinois. He joined the United States Air Force in 1950. He was stationed with the 3rd AFDS in
Guam guarding atomic bombs. He was later stationed at the Stead Air Force base outside of Reno
Nevada as a Military police officer. In Reno he met Claire, and they were married in 1954 at St. Luke’s
Lutheran church.
Sparks Nevada became his home for many years. He and Claire raised their sons there. He received his
private pilot’s license which he was very proud of. He carried a copy of it in his wallet until the day he
died. After taking Claire up for her first private flight and a rather rough landing he was encouraged not to
continue flying. His family obligations took priority over flying. He spent several years working in the
hardware and appliance sales, which he truly enjoyed. He was active in the Lions Club. He later
received his Real-estate brokers license in Nevada where he worked for over 20 years until he retired.
He married Myra Bode in June 1987 at Lord of Mercy Lutheran church in Sparks Nevada. He enjoyed his
retirement with Myra by his side. After Myra retired, they moved to Roseburg. They enjoyed RVing. He
loved to drive. They transversed the country numerous times visiting family and friends along the way.
They enjoyed the chance to visit much of our great nation along with several parts of Canada.
The two of them became snowbirds and bought a winter home in Mesa. He still did most of the driving
between Roseburg and Mesa. Even on his last trip to Arizona in November 2024.
He suffered many loses in his life but that never kept him down. He always faced life with his normal
positive outlook.
He hated leaving his family behind, but he knew there was another world awaiting him where he would be
reunited with the loved ones he’d lost, and he will one day be reunited with the loved ones he left behind.
