Refugio "Junior" Cruz Reyes

Refugio Cruz "Junior" Reyes, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away October 9, 2015 at the age of 59. He was born September 20, 1956 in the San Joaquin Valley, near Stockton, California where he lived until the age of 9 when he and his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. He attended Coronado High School where he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda Mendoza. Junior and Linda were later married, and together they raised seven wonderful children and spent a happy 42 years together. Junior worked in concrete and pool decking for over 30 years before retiring and working as an electrician. While he enjoyed old cars and watching the Dallas Cowboys, he loved and cherished his family more than anything. He never missed a Saturday morning breakfast with the family, and loved wandering swap meets with whatever family members he could bring along.

He was preceded in death by his parents Refugio and Herminia “Minnie” [Cruz] Reyes and is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; children Yolanda and her husband Corey, Isabel and her husband Troy, Ray and his wife Wendy, Yvonne and her husband Dustin, Monica and her husband Matthew, Raquel and her husband Brandon, and his youngest daughter Illeana; his beloved grandchildren: Silas and Abbey; Kevin, Trevor, Travis and Mariah; Anthony; Nevaeh and Landyn; Samuel, Nathaniel and Ashleigh; Aiden, Anessa and Axton; a son Robert and granddaughter Serena; along with 10 sisters, 3 brothers and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm on Friday October 16, 2015 at Redeemer Apostolic Church, 200 E 1st St. in Mesa to be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 back at Mariposa Gardens. All are invited back to Redeemer Apostolic Church following the burial for a reception to celebrate Junior's life and legacy.
