Rich was born on December 24, 1936 in Algona, Iowa to John and Helen Mullins. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Rich proudly served in the US Army from 1958-1966 as an Artillery Instructor and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Rich spent many years in banking and finance, and he and his wife co-owned Spill Investment Realty for over forty years. He was a past member of Kiwanis, Rotary International, The National Association of Realtors and the Presbyterian Church of Pinetop, Arizona.
Rich is survived by his daughter Michele (Ray) Penning, son Mark Mullins, stepson Michael (Kari) Savage and stepdaughter Jennifer Savage, his brother Bill (Janice) Mullins and sister Marlys Pals. Rich is also survived by his four granddaughters Kendall Riess, Brooke and Paige Penning and Hailey Mullins. He loved his granddaughters immensely and they brought much joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom and Jim Mullins, sister Betty Shipman and his beloved wife Janice Ann Mullins.
