

Robert “Bob” Beardslee of Mesa, Arizona passed away in the comfort of his home March 25, 2016 at the age of 80. Husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, friend and affectionately called “Papa”; Bob was born September 30, 1935 in Santa Cruz, California to Robert and Dorothy [Leist] Beardslee. He was raised in Berkeley, California and lived in Denver, Colorado; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Mesa, Arizona. He had a long and successful career in the distribution business beginning at Carnation Company in Oakland, California where he advanced rapidly into upper management. Having a passion for wine, Bob then moved into Wine and Spirits Distribution which took him to Denver, Colorado. At Ledo Dionysus, a Phillips Beverage Company; he held several Management positions and ultimately President & COO. His career continued as he was promoted again to President and COO of Southwest Distributing, a larger Phillips Beverage Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With an opportunity to move back to Northern California, Bob took a Vice President and Director of Wine Sales position at Julliard Alpha Wine & Spirits. The last stop in his long successful career was in Phoenix, Arizona with a new Distributorship Frank-Lin Beverage, where he grew this small company to be known as a “great fine wine boutique and spirits” distributorship.
Bob’s passions were his wife; his family, The San Francisco 49ers and Giants, his dog Daisy, his yard and anything and everything that had to do with cars; from classics to muscle cars not to mention his coveted 82’ Corvette and 2013’ CA Special Mustang. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, as well as, St Bridget’s Catholic Church in Mesa, Arizona. Bob is survived by his loving wife Christine Beardslee: his children Bob (Lori) Beardslee, Connie Tucker, Allyson Beardslee, and Michele (Robert) Sabados; his sisters Joan Roberts and Paula Keeler; brothers Ronald Beardslee, James Fuhrer and Michael Fuhrer; grandchildren April, Troy, Kyle, T.J., Ryan, Shane, Dillon, Clay, Demi and his great grandson Mason, as well as, many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons Ronald Beardslee and James Beardslee, as well as, his grandson Ronnie Beardslee. He will be remembered for the incredible man he was; his honesty and integrity, larger than life persona, work ethic like no other, love of his family, quick wit, sense of humor and laugh.
