The family moved to Montana when Ron was 3 years old. Ron grew up in Lewistown where he graduated from Fergus County High School. After graduation, he enrolled in Montana State University where he was active in the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity as he worked to get his B.S. in Business/Commerce.
He enjoyed the outdoors: hiking, camping, hunting, and canoeing. He was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle. He was a scoutmaster for many years and also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He was married to Jane Myrick on December 20, 1966, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Ron worked in accounting for several different oil companies before finally joining Texaco for the last 25 years of his career. Following his early retirement, he moved with his wife, Jane, to Gniezno, Poland, to begin mission work there through ITMI (In Touch Mission International). After their return from Poland and his dad’s death, he and Jane moved to Mesa, Arizona. Ron continued being active in ministry through his church as a deacon, choir member, board member, CFO, and as a teacher. He returned to the mission field in Kampala, Uganda with Jane where they taught in a Bible college for 4 months. Following their return home, he continued volunteering with ITMI and his church.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Myrick Dissly, 2 children, Carolyn Anne Lilley (Robert), David William Dissly, and brother Richard Dissly (Judi) and sister Donna Machacek (Will). He was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Joshua Lilley, Faith Dissly, and Megan Dissly.
