Roy J Griffin

Roy J Griffin passed away on January 7, 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona. Born in Morrisville, Missouri, to Charles and Laura (nee Westphal) Griffin, Roy arrived on December 1, 1924. He married the love of his life, Laura Ramsey, in Woodland, California on November 19, 1944. Together they spent 68 years loving each other. They raised 3 beautiful children, and Roy loved spending time with them and his grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. His career began with the Wilco Supply Wholesale Hardware Company. He started as a salesman, worked his way to sales manager, then general manager, until he was made the Vice President of the company. He retired from that position to enjoy his time with family. He was given the honor of being selected for Who’s Who in California. Roy also became a Certified Master Gardener from the University of California, Berkley. Giving back to his community was important to Roy, this was shown by his involvement with his membership of the Free and Accepted Masons of California, and his Paul Harris Fellowship with the Rotary Club in Oakland, California. He was proud of his military service, and joined the American Legion. Roy also was an Associate Guardian for Jobs Daughters. Both Roy and Laura belonged to the Nifty 50’s in the community they resided in, and Roy was the President of the Homeowners Association for Patterson Point. Roy is survived by his adoring wife, Laura, his children: Robert (Cathy) Griffin of Mililani Town, Hawaii, Dennis (Marsha) Griffin of Chowchilla, California, and Kathleen Griffin of Gilbert, Arizona; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
