Russ has been my best friend for over 35 years.  We did everything together from raising our kids to housework, cooking, yard work, conversation and sharing our lives together.  He understood me better than any one ever has or ever will.  He knew exactly when to console me, when to leave me alone and when to just sit there.  We thought that we would share many more years of our lives together until we grow gray and old.  We hoped to play with our grand kids together, once we have them, give our kids away at their wedding when they get married.  My heart aches for the loss of my best friend, husband and confidant.  This a great loss for me and my family.  He was a good man with a good heart.  He gave tremendously to everyone he touched.  I will deeply miss him for the rest of my life.  We know that he is now in heaven to continue to help and support Travis.  We will be together again! I love you Russ and will always and forever.

Dearest Russ,
             I miss you so much!    You were the ultimate example of a devoted friend and family man.     I will miss your passion for life, your energy, your loving heart and your listening ear.    I will miss  you walking down the street to our house and asking how we are all doing and then share a funny story or something you were passionate about to brighten up our day over the past 28 years.     Life will never be the same without you.

Russ, you were my best friend for almost 30 years and I will miss you dearly. I’ll always remember how you would call me during the Cardinals game and ask “did you see that play? Only the Cardinals…” We shared many good times together and family memories, and I was always grateful for your friendship. You were a good father and husband to Shiela,  always putting them first in your life. You made a difference in all of our lives but God called you back early, and one day we will be watching the Cardinals again and shaking our heads! You will be  missed.

My dad was one of the most caring, funny and kind people I have ever known. There are so many amazing memories its hard to choose which ones to post. My dad was always there for me when I needed him no matter what whether it was bringing me something at work I forgot or showing me how to check my oil in my car or showing me how to hang my curtains and replacing my shower head in my new apartment. He helped me take care of my horse when I couldn’t. He not once missed one of my calls and always listened when I needed to talk. He will be missed immensely on the future milestones that have yet to happen but I know he will be with me in my heart when they do. I love you, Dad! I know I will be with you again someday ❤️

The best memory I have of Russ, one that shows his character happened when they lived in the house with the pool.  I told him once when I had called that one of the things I missed about Arizona was the sunsets.  That no where else did I get such vibrant and beautiful sunsets.  So, I'm home visiting the family spending a little time at everyone's house, and it was Sheila and Russ'  turn.    I was in the house talking with Sheila when Russ called me out to the back yard saying he had something to show me.  When I went out to him he took me by the shoulders, turned me to the west to show me the sunset I had been missing since I left home.  It rendered me speechless and we watched that beautiful sunset together, not saying a word until the sun was gone.  Then Russ leaned over and said quietly,  " I didn't want you to miss it".  That was Russ, he remembered something that was said once in a quick call home.  Something most people would have forgotten.  But Russ registered it as something significant and remembered.  That's why he was so good with people... he paid attention to what they said, those little details that don't seem like much, but are important to the person who said them.  He remembered and applied that knowledge to bring joy to that person or to help them or to surprise them with a gift that is exactly what they want/need.  That was Russ.


Russ loved bass fishing and him and I went many times. Although years apart, his passing is sorely felt. I will always remember the good times and the not so good times. God bless Sheila and family in this time of loss.
