Ruth E. Kitto

Ruth Swanson Kitto, 88, passed away on October 15, 2014, in Apache Junction, AZ. Ruth was born in Battle Plain, MN on March 17, 1926 to Rosalyn and Henry Weiland. Ruth attended grade school in Minneapolis and graduated from Patrick Henry high school in Northern Minneapolis. On May 22nd, 1047, Ruth married Vernon Swanson and three children were born to this union. In 1977, they moved to Phoenix and lived and worked here until Vern’s passing in 2001. Ruth worked as a medical transcriptionist and taught medical secretarial students at PIMA Medical Institute for 10 years.

In March of 2002, Ruth married Kenneth Kitto of Toston, MT and they lived in Apache Junction until Ruth’s passing.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 12 years and her 3 children: Judy (Jack) Burnam or Phoenix, Clayton Swanson of phoenix, and Cathy Swanson of Chicago, IL, a sister, Betty (Roy) Droel, and 1 brother, Rich (Verlaine) Weiland, all of Minnesota, and a sister in law, Anita Weiland of SD.

Ruth is also survived by 5 stepsons; Jerry (Kathy) Kitto of ND, Rick (Elaine) Kitto of Townsend, MT, Bill (Charlene) Kitto of Great Falls, MT, Don Kitto of SLC, UT and Brad Kitto of Boise, ID.

Ruth is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 23 step grandchildren and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, on grandchild, Cassandra, and her brother Harold Weiland. Burial will be in Townsend, MT on October 25.

Ruth's visitation will be held onMonday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lakeshore Mortuary Chapel.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20 at Lakeshore Mortuary Chapel.
