

Scott Everett Wardlaw, born July 20, 1970 in Phoenix, AZ to Noel Everett and Wanda Joyce [Webb] Wardlaw, passed away on August 28, 2014 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 44. Scott graduated from Langham High School in Houston, TX in 1988. After graduating, Scott joined the U.S. Navy serving from 1988 – 1992. Following his term in the Navy, he moved back to Arizona and started working with Motorola, where he met Shelly Chasser. Scott and Shelly were later married in July of 1995 and spent 19 wonderful years together. In 2001, Scott started working for the Maricopa County Sheriff's’s Office as a Detention Officer where he was later promoted to Detention Sergeant. Scott loved the ocean and enjoyed scuba diving, the outdoors, riding quads, camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching Formula 1 racing. He was a great cook, made wonderful French dishes and also had the best pulled pork recipe. He was an avid history buff and liked learning anything new about American History. Scott was interested in learning more about his family’s history and started researching his ancestry. Scott was preceded in death by his father Noel and is survived by his beloved wife Shelly Wardlaw; mother Wanda Webb; his sister Brenda (Eddie) Bridges; his step-daughter Annie (Michael) Prather; grandson Drake Prather and his nephews Keenan, Devin and Carlin. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.
