Sharon Goettl Goldman (66) entered glory peacefully in her sleep on the evening of March 26, 2025. A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a grandmother, and especially a loving mother, Sharon will be missed by all who knew her. Sharon was number five of the eight children born to Philip and Patrica Goettl of Scottsdale. She attended Hohokam, Coronado, Scottsdale Community College, and NAU. She was an active member of the Apostolic Christian Church and participated for many years in its youth group. Sharon enjoyed many hobbies, such as photography, sewing, cooking, farming, traveling, and bicycling. She particularly enjoyed riding her ten-speed bike.
Fun Sharon Fact! In her twenties, Sharon announced to her parents that the riding group she belonged to, Out-Spoken, a Christian biking group, was planning to ride their 10-speed bikes from the West Coast to the East Coast, and she wanted to go. No big deal, right? Her parents said, "NO WAY"! In the end, Sharon reluctantly won them over, and she jumped on her bike and rode across the country that summer!
The Farmer Takes a Wife! Sharon's love of the outdoors took a beautiful turn when she met her best friend and love of her life, Dave Goldman, a farmer from Tempe, Arizona. Dave was a real rootin-tootin boots-wearing cowboy who loved the outdoors and cattle roping. Dave and Sharon married in 1983 and raised their family in Queen Creek. They were dairy farmers and transitioned into farming orange groves. Sharon is survived by her four children, Emily, Andrew (Rebekah), Travis (Rochelle), and Eden (Doug), and two grandchildren, Amae and Isaiah. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Dave. Sharon's siblings include Randy Goettl (Melissa), Jenny Goettl Barcala, Pam Goettl Giovanetto (Rick), and Caroline Goettl Dishon. Siblings Gail Goettl Gray (Neil), Brenda Goettl, Dave Caldwell (Pat), and Elise Goettl Hazeltine have passed away.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Sharon's spirit continues to inspire those who knew her. She leaves a legacy of unwavering Christian faith, boundless kindness, and a life well-lived. Sharon gave generously, always putting others' needs before hers. She was a living example of grace, wisdom, and compassion, touching everyone she encountered with her warm heart and sharp mind.
