Sheila Sue Edmonds (Gradisher), passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 77. Surrounded by her loving family at Banner Desert Hospital, Sheila’s final moments were marked by the same strength and grace that defined her life. She bravely faced a long battle with congestive heart failure, COPD, and pneumonia.
Born on November 22, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, Sheila was the daughter of Louis and Sophia Gradisher. Raised in the Polish Catholic community, faith and spirituality remained a cornerstone of her life. Her deep Christian beliefs provided her with resilience and comfort through many health challenges over the years.
Sheila’s professional journey reflected her vibrant personality and dynamic spirit. In the 1970s, she worked as a real estate agent with Century 21, helping families find homes during a time of great growth and change. In the 1980s, she embraced her passion for movement and health as an aerobics instructor, an extension of her lifelong love for dancing and physical activity. Later in life, she brought compassion and diligence to her role in the lost and damaged baggage department for America West Airlines at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
Sheila found joy in motion—whether it was dancing to her favorite music or gliding across a roller rink on skates. Her enthusiasm for dance was infectious and ever-present throughout her life. An avid animal lover as well, Sheila had a tender heart for all creatures great and small.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Danny Edmonds; her daughter, Daneen Douglas; son-in-law, Rob Douglas; grandson, Cedar Stone; step-grandson, Curtis Douglas; step-granddaughter-in-law, Jaclyn Douglas; step-great-grandson, Nolan Douglas; step-great-granddaughter, Laney Douglas; brother in law and sister in law, Gary and Sandy Edmonds, sister in law, Sharon Catrufo; brother in law, Brent Dennison, and brother in law and sister in law David and Shelly Ivey; niece, Danielle Lorence and family, nephews, Dana Gradisher and family, Chris Halleck and family, Gabriel Catrufo and family, and Jonathan Dennison and family; cousins, Don and Cathy Goliath, Eugene and Cheryl Goliath, Greg and Teresea Goliath, and Donna Bills ; Best Friend of 65 years (BFF) April Djuricic Minnick and family
