Stanley Hilton Wallace passed away on March 22, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, to Carl and Lenice (nee Knapp) Wallace, Stanley arrived on March 6, 1927. Stanley came from humble beginnings, he faced hard teenage years. This was why he was so determined to make a good life for himself and his family, and that was exactly what he did. He truly was a self-made man. Strong principles and morals were important to Stanley, and he held fast them. Proudly serving his Country, he enlisted in the Navy while he was underage at the end of World War II, after his term ended in the Navy he joined the Air Force, and served over 20 years. He honorably earned the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, he worked in Missile Maintenance Program. Serving his Country did not end there, as Stanley took a job with the Federal Civil Service, working in a similar field as he did in the Air Force. He worked in Federal Civil Service in Rantoul, Illinois for another 20 years. During this time, he also taught automotive lessons at the Parkland Junior College in Champaign, Illinois. Showing his brilliance, Stanley could fix anything on cars. Chevys were his favorite for a long time, but recently, he became a Ford man. During his time in the Air Force, his co-worker, Ernie Prosser, introduced Stanley to his sister, Pauline. That was all it took for Stanley to fall in love with her. When Stanley asked Pauline to marry him, he told her that divorce was not an option. Together they spent 65 years loving each other. After she passed away in October of 2012, he truly was not the same. Part of him was missing. Now they are together in heaven, forever hand in hand. Stanley could come across as hard-nosed sometimes, but it was really a façade. He had a kind and loving heart, and will forever be missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his son, William Wallace, and daughter JoAnn (David) White, grandchildren Michael White, Tasha White, Douglas White, Rachel White, and Jessica White, brother Richard Wallace, and sisters June Ladwig, and Joyce Glasrud. Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Pauline Wallace, mother and step-father Lenice and Carl Ladwig, father Carl Wallace, brothers Walton Wallace, Jim Wallace, and Robert Wallace, and sister Betty Myers. A memorial service honoring both Stanley and Pauline will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Holiday Palms Club House 9302 East Broadway Road Mesa, Arizona 85208. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care 6747 East Broadway Road Mesa, Arizona 85206 (480) 830-4422.
