

Susan Elizabeth Genenbacher (Griffin), 80, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Susan was born on August 31, 1945, in Rockhill Village, St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert and Esther Griffin.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Genenbacher, who passed away on August 3, 2017, as well as her sister, Barbara. She is lovingly survived by her children, Todd Genenbacher and his wife Sandy, and Tim Genenbacher and his wife Kelley. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Cutter, Hope, Sierra, and Savannah, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her siblings Cathy, Jennifer, and John, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Susan dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a home filled with warmth, love, laughter, and creativity. She had a passion for crafting, baking, and together she and Dale created many beautiful quilts that will continue to wrap loved ones in cherished memories for years to come.
Susan will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her endless energy, and the joy she shared with everyone around her. Nothing made her happier than talking about her grandchildren and celebrating all of their accomplishments. Her huge heart and deep love for life, family, and friends touched countless people throughout her life.
Whether saying “Tootles” as she departed or exclaiming “Gad Zooks” with her signature charm, Susan had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable. Her kindness, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
An inurnment will be held on June 23rd, 2026, at 10 AM at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.
