

Venaca “Rainee” Kuyatt was born on July 4th, 1950 in Wide Ruins, AZ to Burke and Mary T. Long. She was born into the Naasht’ezhi Dine Tachii’nii (Zuni Red Running into the Water Clan) born for naasht’ezshi Ta’ baaha (Zuni Edge Water Clan). Rainee attended Tuba City Boarding School and Flagstaff High School. She then married James Kuyatt on February 27th, 1985 in Winslow, AZ. She worked at Winslow Convalescent Center and was also an artist. Rainee also helped raise her youngest sisters and brother. She truly lived a full life of love and laughter. Rainee was the heart and strong foundation of the family. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life; chatting with friends and family, food, putting puzzles together and watvhing her soap opera on TV and most of all enjoying time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rainee was honestly a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rainee is survived by her loving daughter, Audrey Long; grandchildren, Avrial Sheffer, Anthon Sheffer and Ashlynn Sheffer; great grandchildren, Aiden Torrez and Christopher Atchison; her sisters, Juanita Parker, Martha Huenemann, Ruth Long, Roberta Long, Esther Carr, Rose Anzures and Lola Ono and her brother, Virgil Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kuyatt; parents, Burke and Mary T. Long, brother, Burton Long, sister, Mary B. Long and her nephews, Christopher L. Ono and Territino Long. Services will be held at 9:00am, Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 205 W. Lee St Winslow, AZ 86047 with the graveside service following at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow, AZ.
