Walter T Walonoski, Jr. age 62, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his close family members. Walter was a proud veteran of the army, recruiter, music-enthusiast, and most importantly a dedicated family man. He is survived by his two children- Ashley Marie Walonoski age 24 and Kyle Theodore Walonoski age 22.
Walter was born in Plainville, CT and remained there for most of his childhood. With the marriage of Walter Walonoski, Sr. and Evelyn (Theriault) Walonoski, a blended family of 7 children was formed. He attended Plainville Junior High and St. Paul Catholic High School. During his time in school, Walt developed a love for basketball and football which carried into his adult years. Walt and his sister Debbie formed a summer community basketball league and their Black Point Beach Team remained undefeated for all 3 summers that they played.
Right after graduating high school, Walter enlisted into the Army. He received his boot camp training at Fort Dix, NJ and his first posting was to Germany. Subsequently he was stationed in Turkey under the military intelligence unit. In the Army, Walter was awarded many honors including the joint service commendation medal, army commendation medal, good conduct medal, and the national defense service medal only to name a few. His natural ability to converse with others in a personable manner led him to be stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco as a very successful recruiter. Walt served his country proudly for more than 14 years in the Army. While in San Francisco, Walter met Analiza where they soon fell in love and moved to Arizona to start their family. Walter bought his first home in 1996 in Gilbert, AZ making him one of the first residents of his community.
During his time in the Army, he completed his marketing degree through Central Connecticut State University and he would later use his education and training to excel in his career. Following his honorable discharge from the Army he began his professional career in sales, marketing, and recruiting. Walt had the pleasure of working for many companies- Oxford associates, Hall Kinion & associates, ENEA, and EXB where he gained 20+ years of experience in sales and recruiting. He would come to develop long lasting friendships and win awards such as salesman of the year. During his lifetime, Walt was given the opportunity to travel all over the world including places such as Germany, Italy, Philippines, Romania, Hungary, Turkey, Iceland and Norway.
Walter was a loving father, son, brother, and friend to all. His favorite title was dad. He loved his children more than anything and always put their needs above all else. He was so proud of their accomplishments and loved spending quality time by their sides. He had a charming charisma that could light up a room. He was kind to all and truly selfless. He lived in a way that honored God and his country. Walter was enthusiastic about life and treated everyday like a gift. Although called to Heaven too soon, his memory will live in our hearts forever.
