William Glen Laughlin passed away on June 8, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Long Beach, California to Raymond and Lillian (nee Schreckler) Laughlin, Glen arrived on November 23, 1924. Raised in Long Beach, Glen grew up riding horses. He enjoyed riding with Corral 39. Glen continued his love of riding and owning horses, even making fun movies of cowboy rides. Proudly serving his country, Glen joined the Navy during World War II. He met the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” Hyatt, and knew his life would never be the same. His personality appealed to Peggy, and even though those around them said it wouldn’t last she fell in love with her handsome cowboy. The couple ran away to Yuma, Arizona, and got married. Together they spent 66 years adoring each other. They lived in Lakewood, California where Glen worked for British Petroleum for 30 years. Upon his retirement, they moved to Arizona. Having an artistic side, he made beautiful black and white sketches with pencil and Indian ink mediums. During retirement, Glen and Peggy spent their free time on the golf course of Red Mountain Ranch. Golfing together brought them so much joy. Most importantly, Glen loved his family. Gramps was looked up to by all of his grandchildren.
