William Lawrence Lazarus

William (Bill) Lawrence Lazarus was born on June 1, 1949 in Elma, New York. Bill was one of 12 children and is the first of his siblings to join their Mom (Olivia) and Dad (Edward) in heaven. Bill was an avid athlete in High School and went on to graduate from the University of Maryland, as a diehard Terrapin fan. Bill is survived by his two children, Stephanie (Elliot) and Christopher (Linh), and four grandchildren, Abbie, Jordan, Jacob and Luke. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. After retirement Bill moved to be closer to them so he could enjoy daily activities with them, never missing one of their games, concerts, gymnastics meets or special activities. Bill enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bill passed early in the morning on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 with both Stephanie and Christopher by his side. Bill had been fighting an aggressive cancer for several years, and his final race had finished. Bill knew the love of Jesus and was ready for His kingdom. Bill was a loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be fondly remembered as a kind soul, always good for a laugh or practical joke, an impactful Scoutmaster to many young minds, consistently present and boldly supportive of those he loved.
