

Willie attended school in Commerce, Texas where he was active in sports and was a class officer. His laughter and warmth made him a popular classmate. He was on the high school basketball team and was co-captain of his football team.
Willie served in the Air Force on active duty from 1960-64 and in the Reserves until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. He also was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Through the years, Willie held many different jobs from making pizza to aerospace. He retired from Southern California Gas Company in 2004 after 20 years of service.
Willie loved retirement. He spent his time playing tennis as a member of the United States Tennis Association, entertaining with his music, cruising the high seas and recently learning to fly model planes.
After reuniting nearly 40 years after High School, Willie married Aundria, the love of his life in 2005, on a beach in St. Thomas.
Willie was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Jay. Survived by his beloved wife, Aundria, and siblings Beulah Wheatley, James Teel and Mildred Brown.
Children: Donna Doan; Carol and husband Patrick Luyet; and David and his wife Pamela Teel. Grandchildren Ryan, Ashley, Allie, Paige, Jennifer, James Jr., Hannah and Sharlee. Step-daughters Melanie and Taunya and his furry cat, Jingles.
