Barbara Louise Young was born on May 23, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and went home to meet the Lord on December 7, 2020 in Burleson, Texas at the age of 89. She is preceded in in death by her husband of sixty-six years Jerry Dwain Young, Parents H.R and Cecil Schuerhoff, and brother William Schuerhoff.
Barbara has had multiple careers in her life as a housewife, educator and finally retired from Macy’s Department Store. After her retirement she was an active member of Wilshire Baptist Church while living in Mesquite, Texas. Preceding her husband's death, she moved to Burleson, Texas to be close to family. While living in Burleson she never met a stranger while living at Elk Creek. Throughout her life she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, and traveling.
Barbara was a born-again Christian who always had a smile on her face and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family takes great comfort that she is now in Heaven with her husband Jerry and they are both on streets of pure gold.
Barbara is survived by her 4 children, Dwain Young and wife Rita, Darrel Young, John Young and wife Kay, Martha Markle and husband Ray. Eight grandchildren, Eleven Great Grandchildren and one on the way!
Graveside Services will be Saturday December 12, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Restland Memorial Park in the Court of Memories with Bro. Scott Whitson officiating.
