Dan Guevara

On Wednesday, August 21st, 2019, Arthur Daniel Guevara passed away at the age of 82. "Dan" was born on November 18th, 1936 in Los Angeles County, California to Joe and Alice Guevara. After high school, he went to technical school to become an automotive mechanic, a field he worked in for most of his life. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic. He married the love of his life, Faye Powell, on March 30th, 1964. Together they raised a daughter, Tamara, and eventually helped raise a grandson, Daniel.

Dan was a dedicated family man who could always be counted on to help his family members when in need. This helpful spirit also extended to many friends and even strangers. Dan loved jazz music, coffee, reading, sports, keeping his yard immaculate, and seeing movies with his grandson.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alice and Joe; his wife, Faye; his sisters, Josephine and Susan; his half-brother, Peter, and his stepfather, Salvador. He is survived by his daughter "Tammy," grandson Daniel, and half-sister Sally.

A viewing will be held on the evening of Friday, August 23rd, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at College Mound Cemetery, 7985 Co Rd 130, Terrell, TX.

A memorial service will be held afterward on Saturday, August 24th, at 12:30 p.m.at Life Community Church, 425 US 80, Sunnyvale, TX.
