Dennis Henderson was born April 30, 1943 and was raised in the country in a farming community. He had a love for the Lord, his family, and life. He was the oldest of 5 boys born to Arthur "Otto" Henderson and Hettie "Kathyren" Whitt - Henderson. He served in Vietnam and was medically discharged with injuries and granted the bronze and silver stars and was very proud of his country.
Dennis was the first man to be granted full custody of his children in Dallas County in 1974. He was married 3 times and used to joke saying, the first marriage was because of lust and hormones. The second marriage was because of need (needing someone to tend his children as he worked) and the third time was for love.
He spent the largest part of his life in construction and helped to build a large part of the high rise buildings in downtown Dallas helping to shape the sky line. He loved fishing, hunting, and fast cars. Dennis was an active member of the Baptist Church until his illness and carried his faith with him to the end.
After retiring from Marx he and his wife Kitty traveled to many places including England, Germany, France, and Canada as well as almost every state in the United States. They had booked a trip to Alaska to go fishing when they found out Kitty was ill and was unable to travel due to treatment. He continued to talk about taking that trip after her passing but then would say it wouldn't be the same without her.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Daniel and Jerry Henderson, his son Dennis Jr. "Bo" and the love of his life and wife Kitty. He leaves behind two daughters, 3 granddaughters, a grand son, and two great granddaughters, two brothers and a number of nieces and nephews.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy and love may be shared at www.andersonclaytongonzalez.com for the Henderson family.
