Dorothy Lee Myers, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Allen, Texas. She was born in Coke, Texas to Dennis E. Turner and Bessie (Waddle) Turner. Dorothy was raised in Wood County and was a "Rosie The Riveter" at the WA Boeing Plant in Seattle and worked on B-29 bombers. She married W. Ray Myers in Dallas and the couple had four children. Dorothy was a homemaker until her children were grown and then she went to work in retail at Sanger Harris, Foley's and Macy's where she worked for over 30 years.
In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed maintaining her yard and flower beds. Her family and friends will always remember her as an excellent cook, living a healthy life who was religious about taking her vitamins, which paid off, living until she was 97. Until she fell and broke her hip, she never had anything wrong with her, no medicine or any other health condition whatsoever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Bessie Turner; brothers, Herman and Jack Turner and sisters, Ruby and Opal. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Baguio, Pamela Ernst, Rick Myers and wife, Salina and Ronny Myers; sister, Evon Collins; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
A celebration of life for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
