

Earnest Wayne Camp was born on October 20, 1946 in Dallas, TX to Noble Harold Camp and Jewell Pauline Latham. He attended South Oak Cliff High School, Class of '64. While there, he received the "All District Linebacker" Award. He made his career at the United States Postal Service on November 11, 1966 and retired on January 31, 2014. He worked his way up from letter carrier to management, but quickly decided his final place was delivering mail, where he had the same route for 24 years. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association, Branch 132. He received several different awards while at USPS, such as "Accident Free" and "Million Miles" award. He always said " I was born with a letter in my hand". Earnest was known by many as "Big E", "Old Man" and to many co-workers as "Speed Caser". He enjoyed golf for several years, but was a man dedicated to working. Earnest passed at Texas Regional Hospital in Sunnyvale, TX after fighting cancer. He was called Home to be with his Maker on May 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble Harold & Jewell Pauline Camp and his wife, Gayle Camp. His life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by his children Earnest Wayne Camp, Jr. & his wife Christie of Mesquite; Stacy C. Wade & her husband Darrin of Midlothian; Stephanee C. Aliff & husband James of Arlington; grandchildren: Taylor W. Camp, Josh Slater, Coleman Camp, Lindsey Wade, Courtney Wade, Ethan Aliff & Connor James Aliff; his brothers: Bill Nance & Larry Noble Camp; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He also leaves behind a wonderful post office family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
