James Victor Ardis, Sr. of Mesquite, TX returned home to the arms of our Heavenly Father on 28th day of September 2016. He was born on 7/2/47 in Laurel, MS. He was an E-5 Sgt. in the USMC and served in the Vietnam War. He was a 30-year veteran of the Mesquite Fire Dept. He received several firefighter awards and reached the rank of Captain and Arson Investigator before retiring in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Karen S. Ardis, 4 Children James Jr., Shari, Joram & Jason, 12 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, His Mother Betty J. Ardis, Sister Ellen Goldman, Brothers Wayne, Faren & Cornel. He was preceded in death by his Father Victor Virean Ardis, Brothers Dennis and Buddy. He was a Man known for his Generosity, Love, Integrity, Hard work and Dedication to his family and work. He was highly respected by his peers and Loved by anyone who knew him. He loved and served the Lord and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
