Josephine Annette Hammer, age 83, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Friday June 21, 2019. Josephine was born June 18, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to parents Robert and Irene Slocum. Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, and listening to various church hymns.
Josephine is survived by; son Ralph Hammer and wife Marsha; daughter Carolyn Howey; son David Hammer; son Kenneth Hammer; grandchildren Kim McBride, Kristy Harrington, Kevin Hammer, Kyle Hammer, Raymond Howey, Jason Howey, Clayton Hammer, Johnathan Hammer, Joshua Hammer, Casi Hammer, Chase Hammer, Rachel Hammer and Christina Hammer; 10 great grandchildren; sister Francis Slocum; and many other family members and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Alvin Hammer; parents Robert and Irene Slocum, and siblings.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home. A funeral service for Josephine will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home. A burial will occur at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas 75159.
