Juanita L. Voronin, loving and dedicated mother, proud American, as well as longtime resident and respected business professional of the Highland Lakes community went home to be with our Lord and Savior on the morning of June 21, 2025. Born in Harrison, Arkansas on September 26, 1933, she graduated from the School of the Ozarks, followed by three years of service in the U.S Navy as a radio specialist First Class. She left the Navy in 1955 to devote herself to family, despite being recommended for OCS (Officers Candidate School). After experiencing personal setbacks, Ms. Voronin rebounded to establish a very successful business as a tax professional and bookkeeper. She was an active member and board member of the Texas Association of Tax Professionals as well as the National Association of Tax Professionals where she held the office of president for a one-year term. Her input and advice were often sought out and highly respected in tax and bookkeeping matters. After many years of dedicated service to her clients and community, she officially closed shop and retired in 2018. After retirement, she moved to the DFW area to be closer to her son and daughter and live out her remaining years near her family.
Ms. Voronin is preceded in death by her parents (Charles and Ethel Younes); siblings Mabel, Colleen (Aunt Sissy), Charles (Uncle CL), Frank, Ruth, Kenneth (Uncle Skinner), and Kirby (Uncle Red). She is survived by her children James Voronin (Gretchen), daughter Kimberly Lewallen (Kevin), grandson Tristram, nieces Joann, Linda, Patricia, Monique, Jane, Sue, and nephews Larry, Clifford, and Kirby.
By her wishes, there will not be a funeral ceremony, viewing, or formal burial. Her ashes will be buried at the Younes family cemetery in Harrison, Arkansas with immediate family members present. In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to your local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) organization.
