Patsy Lawson Stanford passed away April 30, 2021 at age 96. Born to Richard C. and Lillie Lawson on June 29, 1924, she was a lifelong resident of Dallas and a 1940 graduate of Sunset High School. She served at the Army’s 8th Service Command in Dallas during World War II. During that time she met Army Captain Vactor Stanford while he was on leave from the Pacific, and they were married December 8,1945. They would work together in his law practice for 40 years. They had two sons, Richard, named after her brother killed in the war, and John, named after her favorite uncle. After Vactor’s death in 2002, Patsy moved to CC Young Senior Living, and became a happy part of that community until her death. She spent her years there painting and drawing, expressing her great love of art. She was the subject of a one women community art show there. Words cannot express the family’s gratitude to CC Young Senior living for the wonderful years she spent on that campus. Patsy was a member of White Rock United Methodist Church from 1963 until the date of her death. She is survived by sons Richard and John, their wives Deborah and Bette, grandchildren Rachel and husband Mike,Carissa and husband Merritt, Garrett and wife Cayla, and Lillie, and great grandsons Henry, Alec and Abram . A graveside service will be held at 3pm Friday May 14 at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Rev Barbara Marcum presiding. A reception will follow at the home of John and Bette Stanford. Memorials may be made to CC young Senior Living or Owenwood Farm and Neighbor Space.
