Petra (Mejia) Ortiz age 86 of Dallas, Texas went to be with her Lord Wednesday October 22, 2014 in Carrollton, Texas. She was born April 27, 1928 in Gill, Colorado to the late Alfonso & Mercedes (Acosta) Mejia. Petra was preceded in death be her parents, two sisters Graciela Ortiz & Sandra Walker and her beloved husband of 63 years Gilberto Ortiz. She is survived by seven children Guadalupe Ortiz, Edith Bustos, Arthur Ortiz, Gilbert Ortiz Jr., Carmen Mendoza & husband Joey Villasenor, Ernest Ortiz and Leticia Ortiz; a total of 44 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three siblings sister & best friend Louisa Conterras, sister Ester Mejia and brother Meliton Mejia; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wants to recognize and thanks Vitas Hospice for their excellent care and support.
